Here’s a break-down of each board…

Ripstiks have proven to be one of our best selling, widely used products within the store. Although these brilliantly crafted caster boards are recommended for ages 8 and up, we have found since stocking the product that we have had growing interest and demand by age groups ranging from 6 years right up to eager dads and even grandparents wanting to give it a go. Ripstiks have even become an alternative form of transport to and from work for many adults!

The designers have creatively merged the carving thrill of  snowboarding and surfing into one great invention! which allows the gist of these two extreme sports to be experienced on dry land at your local skatepark, in your street or backyard. Its amazing technology enables you to use a twisting motion to propel you forward, eliminating the need to push as you would with a normal skateboard. It is the Ripstik’s 360 degree inclined caster wheels and pivoting tortion bar neck, that create the unique carving motion that its famous for, making it unlike anything you’ve ridden before!

The Ripstik Classic (above) caster board was the first original release of the product and still stands as a top seller. Available in Red, Green, Blue and Pink, there are colours to suit boys and girls of all ages. We often get confused parents or family members unsure of which board to get for a child with limited Ripstik riding experience, but being the most basic form, Its a brilliant choice for beginners.

The Ripstik Air Pro (above) is reccomended for all ‘PRO’ riders who intend to use the board for tricks and stunts. It is the latest edition to the Ripstik Family and was voted Boys Toy of the year 2009, at last year’s Melbourne Toy and Hobby Fair. It’s famous for being the first ‘one piece’ Ripstik because of its design with out the rotating tortion bar in the middle. This allows less friction when riding, making the air pro the quickest board. Its lightweight construction and concaved design makes it perfect for air stunts and flip tricks unlike the other boards which are heavier. The board is covered with a coloured, sand-paper like griptape which enables the rider to have greater grip and control when doing these tricks making it safer. Another Great feature to its new design, are the Air’s caster wheels that are spring loaded so when the rider is airbourne, the wheels self center as they hit the ground enabling a much safer, super solid landing.

The Ripstik ‘G’ or ‘Grind’ (above) is available in Silver with a Gold tortion bar, or Black with a Gold tortion bar. Hence its name, the Ripstik G is an intense grinding machine! Its main feature is the super-strong spinning alliminium G-tube neck that allows the rider to perform super smooth grinds unlike the other boards. Apart from its grinding ability, this board has also proven popular among children and adolecents due to its appealing design.

The Ripster Dlx  (above) is essentially a mini version of the Ripstik Dlx. We get a large amount of younger siblings of children who have Ripstiks or younger children that are  just generally eager to give the ripstik a go, so this board is a perfect size for them. The Ripster is 27.5 inches in length, whereas all of the standard boards are 34 inches. The smaller size allows a shorter child with a smaller foot stance to be able to ride the board easily. In saying that, we also get many older riders that simply prefer the board’s size as it’s easier to control.

The Ripstik Dlx (above) being the most expensive, normally retailing at $219.99, is top of the range. Its sheek black design appeals particularly to older adolescents and adults. The board can carry a large weight capacity and has an easy to grip carbon print deck. The main difference with this board aside from its strength, are its wheels which have 7-ABEC bearings allowing it to move very fast despite it still being a heavy board. Hence its name, this Ripstik is a deluxe version of the original Classic and G designs,  ideal for maturer riders that want all the extras.
